1 cup water
1 (16 ounce) can tomato paste
5 teaspoons chili powder
1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper
1/2 cup catsup
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup margarine
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
6 tablespoons honey
6 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a medium sauce pan.
  • Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer one hour, stirring occasionally.
  • If used as a basting sauce, baste meat with sauce when almost done. Can also be served as a sauce with the meal.

1 cup White or Apple Cider Vinegar
1 cup water
10 tbsp Ketchup
1 tsp Chili Powder
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Ginger Powder
1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
Salt & Black Pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients in a sauce pan & simmer for 10-15 minutes. Let cool & serve. Refridgerate the left-overs.

3 pounds raw shrimp, in shells
1/4 pound butter
2/3 cup lemon juice
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1 1/2 cups Italian salad dressing
2 1/2 teaspoons black pepper, more to taste

Steps:

  • Wash shrimp and remove heads, but leave in shell. Drain. In a medium saucepan, melt butter and add lemon juice, lemon peel, Italian dressing, and black pepper. Bring to a boil. Add shrimp and simmer for about 6 minutes or just until tender. Serve with crusty French bread. Ladle shrimp into individual bowls with plenty of sauce for soppin' the bread in. You peel your own shrimp, which guarantees the pleasure of slow eating.
