This is a quick, yummy recipe that makes it's own hard sauce. Serve it with real cream. It's an old German recipe my family has made for many holidays.

TASTY VANILLA PUDDING
I think one of the best thing is homemade products. This one definitely fits that category. Much better then any instant pudding. And this pudding is very rich and creamy...

Steps:
- Get out a 3 quart saucepan. Combine the sugar and cornstarch. Slowly stir in the milk. I use a whisk to make sure the cornstarch doesn't get lumpy. If the milk is cold, so much the better, (cornstarch dissolves quicker in cold liquids) Heat the pudding over medium heat. Stir constantly,Keep stirring it until it boils.
- Wait a minute, so that it boils for a full minute.
- Next crack your egg into a cereal bowl. Scoop a bit of the hot pudding into the bowl with the egg. Stir the egg up pretty fast (so it doesn't cook in the hot pudding) until it is well mixed. Then put the egg/pudding mixture back into the pot. Whisk it up smooth. Bring the pudding back to a boil and then remove it from the stove. Drop in the butter and the vanilla. Stir until butter melts.
- Pour it into small resealable plastic containers if you want to send it in a lunch box.

SUMMER PUDDING RECIPE BY TASTY
Here's what you need: raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, sugar, white breads, whipped cream, fresh mint
Provided by Rie McClenny
Categories Snacks
Time 6h30m
Yield 8 servings

Steps:
- Add the raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and sugar to a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the berries have softened but are still mostly intact and the sugar just dissolves. Remove the pan from the heat.
- Strain the berries through a fine-mesh sieve set over a liquid measuring cup. Add water as needed so you have 1½ cups (360 ml) of liquid total. Pour the liquid into a shallow dish. Reserve the fruit and the liquid.
- Trim the crusts off the bread. Cut the bread in half down the middle.
- Line a 2-quart bowl with enough plastic wrap to hang over the edges at least 4 inches (10 cm) all around.
- Dip a half slice of bread at a time in the reserved berry juice, then line the sides of the wrapped bowl, overlapping slightly. Some slices can hang over the side of the bowl. Line the center of the bowl once the sides are covered.
- Spoon the reserved berries into the center of the lined bowl. Fold the bread over the berries, then dip the remaining bread in the berry juice and cover the center, overlapping slightly. Pour any remaining juice over the pudding.
- Cover the pudding with the plastic wrap. Place a small plate on top and weigh down with a can. Refrigerate for at least 6 hours, up to overnight.
- When ready to serve, remove the plate and the can and peel back the plastic. Place a serving platter over the bowl and quickly flip both the bowl and platter over to invert the pudding. Remove the bowl and plastic wrap.
- Top the pudding with the whipped cream, more berries, and fresh mint leaves. Slice and serve.
- Enjoy!

WINTER PUDDING
Steps:
- In a food processor chop cranberries fine and in a saucepan combine with sugar and 1/2 cup water. Simmer mixture, stirring occasionally, until sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes. On a baking sheet arrange bread slices and brush tops and edges with some cranberry cooking liquid.
- Peel, quarter, and core apples. Cut apples into 1-inch chunks and add to cranberry mixture with cinnamon sticks and cloves, stirring. Simmer mixture, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes, or until apples are just tender and most liquid is evaporated.
- While apple mixture is simmering, in a very small bowl sprinkle gelatin over remaining tablespoon water and let soften 1 minute. Stir gelatin mixture into fruit mixture until dissolved.
- Arrange 6 bread slices, overlapping slightly, against inside of a deep 1-quart bowl or pudding mold with coated side against inside of bowl or mold. Gently press remaining bread slice into bottom and spoon fruit mixture over bread. Chill pudding, covered with plastic wrap, until completely cold, at least 6 hours, and up to 2 days.
- To unmold pudding, run a thin knife around edge of bowl or mold and invert pudding onto a plate. Serve pudding cut into wedges.
SNOWY PUDDING

- In a bowl, combine gelatin, boiling water, lemon juice and sugar, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Chill in refrigerator, stirring occasionally, until mixture coats the back of a metal spoon.
- Beat egg whites until stiff. Beat lemon mixture until frothy. Fold egg whites into lemon mixture until mixture holds together. Pour into greased molds and chill until set.
