Garnish: lemon wedge , celery stalk, or pickle spear

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • In a highball glass filled with ice cubes, pour the vodka, tomato juice, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Add the hot sauce, celery salt, black pepper, and horseradish (if using).
  • Stir well, or try rolling the drink . Taste and adjust the seasonings to your liking.
  • Garnish with a lemon wedge, celery stalk, and/or pickle. Serve and enjoy.

Number Of Ingredients 16

Tomato water
4 large beefsteak tomatoes, quartered
1/2 serrano chile, roughly chopped
1/4 red onion, roughly chopped
3-inch piece of lemongrass, tough outer leaves removed and roughly chopped
small pinch sugar
large pinch salt
1/2 lime
1/2 lemon
1/2 orange
2 18-inch-square pieces cheesecloth
Bloody Mary
Ice
16 ounces tomato water
6 ounces Grey Goose Le Citron (or any citrus vodka)
4 cherry tomatoes for garnish

Steps:

  • For tomato water:
  • In food processor, purée first six ingredients until smooth. Line sieve with cheesecloth and set sieve over nonreactive bowl. Pour purée into center of cheesecloth and refrigerate overnight. Gather sides of cheesecloth up over purée to form large sack and squeeze gently to extract last bits of water. Discard sack and its contents and transfer tomato water to bowl. Set strainer over bowl and squeeze in lime, lemon, and orange juice. Stir well. Makes about 20 ounces tomato water, enough for roughly 4 drinks.
  • For Bloody Mary
  • Fill 4 highball glasses with ice. In each, combine 4 ounces tomato water and 1 1/2 ounces vodka and stir. Garnish with cherry tomatoes.

Steps:

8 ounces pitted green olives
1 cup vodka, or as needed
1 pinch celery salt, or to taste

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add tomatoes and cook uncovered until peels start to break, about 10 seconds. Drain in a colander and immediately immerse in ice water for several minutes to stop the cooking process. Drain and slip skins off each tomato.
  • Combine tomatoes, celery, and olives in a bowl; pour in enough vodka to completely cover. Marinate in the refrigerator, 8 hours to overnight. Strain and sprinkle celery salt over tomato mixture.

To store, pour the tomato vodka back into its original bottle and keep in a cool, dark place.
  • Make the Bloody Marys: Put the cherry tomatoes, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and salt in a blender, cover and blend on high speed for 1 1/2 minutes. Fill an ice cube tray with about 2 cups of the juice and freeze overnight. Pour the remaining juice into a lidded container and reserve on the counter overnight. (Refrigeration will destroy these particular flavors and aromas.)
