Love apple pie but not the time it takes to make and bake the crust? Then this quick-and-easy, crust-free, apple pie dessert is meant for you. It takes the warm, gooey pie center and uses it as the base of a sundae: That's like two desserts for the price of one!. Swap a pear for the apple, if desired, and in summer months, try two medium stone fruit in place of the apple. Add some brightness by stirring lemon zest and juice into the mixture, or add a touch of warmth with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon and nutmeg.

- Lightly coat a medium nonstick skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium-low heat. Add apples, almonds, and syrup; cook, stirring occasionally, until apples soften slightly and start to turn golden, about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat; spoon mixture into a serving bowl. Let cool slightly; garnish with whipped topping and sprinkles. Serve hot or warm.

- Preheat oven to 325°F.
- Butter a 9" pie plate.
- Pile apples in plate and sprinkle with 2/3 cup sugar, 3 TBS butter and cinnamon.
- In food processor, pulse butter and sugar until combined; add flour and salt, pulse till combined.
- Press this crumbly mixture firmly over apples.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until apples are tender.
- Serve garnished with whipped cream, or ice cream if desired.
- Note: For variation, recipe can be made with peaches.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C.)
- In a large bowl, combine apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, white sugar and 1/2 cup baking mix. Stir together the milk and eggs and mix into apple mixture, Pour filling into pie plate and dot with butter.
- To make the Topping: In a large bowl, combine 1 cup baking mix, walnuts, brown sugar and margarine. Mix until crumbly and sprinkle over top of apples.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until apples are cooked and topping is golden brown.
