It's since become a tradition that we all look forward to. At our house, my husband and our son, 13, are my "guinea pigs". - In a saucepan, soften gelatin in water; heat over low until gelatin dissolves. Cool. In a bowl, beat cream, sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form. Combine the gelatin mixture and sour cream; mix well. Gently whisk into the cream mixture. Pour into small bowls or parfait glasses. Chill until set, about 1 hour. , For sauce, combine 1-1/2 cups cranberries, water, orange juice and zest in a saucepan; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes. Sieve sauce, discarding skins. Return sauce to pan; add sugar and remaining cranberries. Cook over medium heat until berries pop, about 8 minutes. Chill. Spoon over each serving of cream.

This goes with Recipe #230397 and is also great to serve with trifle or other desserty things instead of straight whipped cream. Excellent poured over fruit salad too.

TURKEY DEVONSHIRE
Steps:
- Toast bread and heat turkey and bacon. Sauce - Melt butter over low heat then whisk in flour. Add milk all at once and increase heat to medium. Stir constantly until mixture is bubbling then stir in cheese until melted. Add pepper to taste. Assemble - Place toast in shallow baking dish. Place once slice of turkey on toast and then two slices of bacon on the turkey. Spoon sauce on top and broil for a few minutes.
TURKEY DEVONSHIRE
Turkey Devonshires were invented in Pittsburgh, my hometown. I make my husband's in a pie plate and in a smaller ovenproof bowl for me. The tomato is my husband's addition to this recipe. I don't always have time to cool the sauce completely and it still works. Cooking time includes cooling time for sauce.

Steps:
- In a saucepan, heat butter; add flour, cooking and stirring a few minutes before whisking in milk.
- Add bouillon cube and cheese and cook, stirring often, over low heat for 5 minutes.
- Stir in food coloring (2 to 3 drops), if needed.
- Cool sauce completely; if possible, refrigerate for several hours.
- To make sandwiches:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Trim crusts off toast. Arrange 4 slices of the lightly toasted white bread on individual baking plates.
- Place 2 to 3 pieces of bacon on each piece of toast, then 2 to 2-1/2 slices turkey breast and tomato slices.
- Mold cold sauce over sandwiches, to cover. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, dust lightly with paprika.
- Bake in hot preheated oven until bubbling and lightly browned.
- Sandwiches can be run under broiler for additional browning.
