CORN ON THE COB ( COOKED IN THE OLD WAYS)
This corn has more flavor then any corn on the cob you will ever taste--boiled in its own husk keeps in the flavor. This how it was done in my great-great grandmothers' day.

Steps:
- Boil water in large pot.
- Place the unshucked corn in the boiling water.
- Boil for 10 minutes.
- Shuck corn and serve with butter and salt.
CORN ON THE COB (EASY CLEANING AND SHUCKING)
No need to remove silk from corn on the cob. Fast and easy microwave recipe that is shucked without removing shucks or silk. If cooking more than one ear, simply increase cooking time by about two minutes.

- Place ear of corn in a microwave oven and cook on high for 2 minutes; flip corn over and cook on high until kernels are hot and steaming, another 2 minutes.
- Place corn ear on a cutting board, using a pot holder or folded kitchen towel, and cut off the bottom of the ear, exposing 1/4 to 1/2 inch of kernels. Hold the ear from the top and squeeze ear of corn out of the husk from top to bottom. Husks and silk will be left behind.
- Spread ear with butter and season with salt.

DELICIOUS AND EASY CORN ON THE COB
I learned this from a shopper in Stockbridge, Massachusetts when I was young. I have used this for 40 years and it has never failed to produce the most wonderful corn on the cob.

- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Stir sugar into water to dissolve; add corn, cover pot, and turn heat off, leaving pot on hot burner.
- Steep corn in hot water until tender, about 25 minutes.

- Heat corn in the microwave until cooked through and tender, about 3 1/2 minutes.
- Hold the tapered end of the corn with a towel over a cutting board. Cut the bottom 1-inch off of the thick end of the cob. Squeeze tapered end of corn cob out of husk and silk.
- Spread butter over corn and season with salt.

MICROWAVE CORN-ON-THE-COB IN THE HUSK
This is one of my favorite ways to fix corn on the cob, even when I have several to fix. Without the water from boiling, the corn stays nice and sweet. Hope this helps just one young cook.

- Rinse entire ear of corn under water briefly. Wrap corn in a paper towel and place on a microwave-safe plate.
- Cook corn in the microwave oven until hot and cooked through, 3 to 5 minutes. Remove from microwave and let rest for 2 minutes. Remove corn husk.
