SWEET SPICY CHEX MIX

Steps:

• Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F. Lightly coat a baking sheet with non-stick spray, line with parchment paper, then coat with baking spray once more. Set aside.
• In a large bowl, combine the honey nut cereal, wheat cereal, pretzels, cashews, pecans, peanuts, and almonds.
• In another bowl, beat the egg white until foamy, then stir in the maple syrup, cinnamon, chipotle powder, chili powder, salt, cumin, and cayenne. Drizzle over the cereal and nut mixture, then toss to coat.
• Spread the mixture in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 1 hour, stirring once every 20 minutes. The mixture is done when dry to the touch. Remove from the oven, place the pan on a cooling rack, and let cool completely.

SPICY CHEX MIX RECIPE

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 250ºF. In large bowl, add the corn, rice, and wheat chex cereals, mixed nuts, mini pretzels and bagel chips. Set aside.
• Place the butter in a small microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 30 seconds to 1 minute, until the butter completely melts. Add the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, onion powder, chili powder, paprika and cayenne. Whisk together until combined. Pour the butter over the cereal mixture,
• Pour the butter sauce over the cereal mixture and toss together until everything is evenly coated.
• Spread the chex mix onto a large rimmed baking sheet and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes to make sure everything crisps up evenly. Let cool slightly before eating.

Steps:

• In small bowl, mix sugar, chili powder and red pepper.
• In large microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 30 seconds or until melted. Stir in cereal and nuts until evenly coated. Stir in sugar mixture until evenly coated.
• Microwave uncovered on High 3 to 4 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes, until mixture just begins to brown. Spread on waxed paper; cool about 15 minutes. Store in airtight container.

• In large microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in cereal and nuts until evenly coated. Stir in sugar mixture until evenly coated.
• Microwave uncovered on High 4 to 5 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes, until mixture just begins to brown. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container.

SPICED NUTS CHEX™ PARTY MIX

Steps:

• In large bowl, mix cereals and almonds. Line cookie sheet with waxed paper or foil.
• In 2-cup measure, beat egg white with fork. Mix sugar, salt and spices together in small bowl. Pour egg white over cereal; sprinkle with sugar-spice mixture.
• Microwave on High 3 to 4 minutes, stirring after every minute until cereal and nuts are browned and sound crisp when stirred with spoon. Pour onto waxed paper to cool. Store tightly covered.

SPICY MIXED NUTS

Steps:

• In a large skillet, melt butter over low heat. Add nuts and Worcestershire sauce; cook and stir 5-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Place nuts in a large bowl. Combine remaining ingredients; sprinkle over nuts, tossing to coat. Cool. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

SPICED NUT MIX

Steps:

• In a bowl, beat egg whites and water until frothy. Add nuts; stir gently to coat. Combine sugar, pie spice and salt; add to nut mixture and stir gently to coat. Fold in raisins. Spread into two greased 15x10x1-in. baking pans. , Bake, uncovered, at 300° for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned, stirring every 10 minutes. Cool. Store in an airtight container.

BROWN SUGAR SPICE CHEX™ PARTY MIX

Steps:

• In large microwavable bowl, measure cereal and nuts; set aside.
• In 2-cup microwavable measuring cup, microwave butter on High 30 seconds; stir and microwave 30 seconds longer or until butter is melted; stir in brown sugar, corn syrup, and spices. Heat until boiling, about 30 seconds. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring until evenly coated.
• Microwave uncovered on High about 3 minutes, stirring every minute, until mixture is glazed. Cool 5 minutes, stir in cranberries. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container.

NUTS AND BOLTS SNACK MIX

Steps:

• Mix all cereal ingredients together in a large roaster or roasting pan. A Nesco electric roaster works best.
• Mix spices together and toss with cereal ingredients.
• Pour melted butter over cereal and spices. Mix to coat thoroughly.
• Bake at 250 degrees, turning every 15 minutes until cereal is crisp and golden brown. Baking time is usually 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
• This recipe makes a large batch of mix. The cereal and spice amounts may be adjusted according to taste.
