ONTARIO BEAN BAKE
My sisters and I copied this recipe from our dear Mom who passed away in 2001....anyway it is very popular and my youngest sister brings it to all our family gatherings. Now the next generation is requesting the recipe so I thought I would post it. Enjoy :)

Steps:
- Fry bacon until crisp; drain & remove from pan; crumble.
- Saute onions, green peppers in bacon grease.
- Combine remaining ingredients in 2 quart casserole and bake at 350 for 40 minutes, uncovered.
- Or use your crock pot and cook on low 6-8 hours.

RUTH CULLEN'S GREEN BEAN BAKE
Green beans in a chili sauce with onions, brown sugar, etc. I've made this for years and my family loves it. It has a really different taste to it.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Remove bacon from skillet, leaving grease. Crumble and set aside.
- Stir onion into bacon grease, and cook over medium heat until tender; drain.
- In a medium baking dish, mix bacon, onion, green beans, brown sugar, dry mustard and chili sauce.
- Bake 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until heated through.

Hearty & satisfying side dish for summer cookouts or Super Bowl parties. A one-pot wonder that makes a huge kettle-full. Fantastic when reheated the next day too!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350.
- In ovenproof kettle, cook beef, bacon, and onion over moderate heat, stirring to break up lumps for about 20 minutes or until beef is no longer pink & bacon is slightly crisp. Transfer to a large strainer to drain the grease & then return to the kettle. Add ketchup, barbecue sauce, mustard, molasses, chili powder, & six cans of beans. Stir until well combined.
- Note: you can modify the types beans to your liking. I don't use kidney beans myself; however you can add them in place of the pink ones. Can't really go wrong with whatever kind you chose!
- Bake mixture, covered, in middle of oven for at least an hour. Serves about 20 as a side dish.

This is my mother-in-law's recipe; she is the queen of canned cooking! This recipe may sound yucky, but it's really quick and yummy. My kids love this and it is easy for beginning cooks. Delicious served with cornbread and a garden salad.

- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
- Cook and stir ground beef chuck and onion in a large skillet over medium high heat until meat is crumbly and cooked through, 5 to 10 minutes. Drain fat.

- Sort beans and rinse with cold water. Place beans in a large saucepan; add water to cover by 2 in. Bring to a boil; boil for 2 minutes. - Soak beans by a method listed here. Pick and rinse beans. Add 4 cups of cold water, cover, heat to boiling, simmer 30 minutes. Drain keeping liquid. Place sliced onion in bottom of 6 cup (1.5 L) casserole. Mix seasonings, and turn into pot. Add beans, and hot liquid or water to cover. Arrange pork slices on top. Cover and bake in slow oven 250 F (135 C) for seven hours. At end of four hours, remove one cup of beans, mash, then stir back into remaining beans carefully. Cover and continue to bake. Add liquid several times to keep beans just covered. One hour before serving, remove cover to allow salt pork to brown.
