Strawberry Fool is an easy fruit dessert recipe made with whipped cream and fresh strawberries.

1 cup heavy cream, chilled
2 cups fresh (or frozen) strawberries
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
a few strawberries, sliced, for garnish

Steps:

  • Place chilled heavy cream in a large mixing bowl, or the bowl of a stand mixer.
  • Beat until light and fluffy, being careful not to overheat.
  • Set aside or chill until ready to use. (You might need to whisk it or beat it again for a few seconds if you don't use it right away and it separates.)
  • Place strawberries in a medium bowl.
  • Sprinkle with sugar and add vanilla extract.
  • Mash the strawberries, leaving some larger pieces.
  • Let stand for a few minutes.
  • Add about half of the mashed strawberries to the whipped cream, folding with a large silicone spatula.
  • Reserve the remaining strawberries to use when serving.
  • Spoon some of the cream into four serving glasses or dishes, top with some of the remaining mashed strawberries, and another spoonful or two of the cream and a few sliced strawberries.
  • Serve immediately, or place in fridge to chill until ready to serve.

4 cups strawberries
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup whipped cream
1 and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Steps:

  • To make strawberries and cream, first, wash the juicy berries properly and de-stem them. Let them be for five minutes and sprinkle them with granulated sugar. Thereafter, let them sit for a while.
  • You can even slice the strawberries if you want and then sprinkle sugar on them.
  • Once that is done gently toss the strawberries so that they blend well with the sugar.
  • In the meantime, whip 1 cup of cream properly. Add the whipped cream and a tsp and a half of vanilla extract to the fresh strawberries and refrigerate it for two hours before you serve the delectable dessert. Your delicious dessert, strawberries and cream, is ready!

  • Place egg whites in a large bowl; let stand at room temperature 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°. Line bottoms of two greased 8-in. round baking pans with parchment; grease paper., In a large bowl, cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks, beating well. Beat in vanilla., In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Transfer to prepared pans., With clean beaters, beat egg whites on medium speed until foamy. Add remaining sugar, beating on high until sugar is dissolved. Continue beating until soft peaks form. Spread over batter in pans., Bake 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely in pans on wire racks. (Cake layers will be thin.), In a large bowl, beat cream until stiff peaks form. Loosen edges of cakes from pans with a knife. 1 large egg plus 1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons cold whole milk
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut into 1/4-inch cubes
1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise and seeds scraped out
1 1/4 cups cold light cream
1 quart strawberries, hulled and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
Confectioners' sugar, for dusting

Steps:

  • Make the crust: Whisk the vegetable oil, egg yolk, milk and vinegar in a bowl. Pulse the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a food processor to combine; add the butter and pulse until the mixture looks like coarse meal. Add the milk mixture and pulse once or twice, just to moisten the flour.
  • Transfer the dough to a 9-inch-round tart pan with a removable bottom and pat onto the bottom and up the sides. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm, at least 30 minutes. Trim the edges, if necessary.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Pierce the dough all over with a fork. Line with foil and fill with pie weights or dried beans. Place the pan on a baking sheet and bake 15 minutes. Remove the foil and weights; continue to bake until golden, 10 to 15 more minutes. Beat the whole egg with 1 teaspoon water, then lightly brush over the crust and bake 5 more minutes. Cool completely on a rack.
  • Meanwhile, make the filling: Sprinkle the gelatin over 1 tablespoon cold water in a bowl and let soften 5 minutes. Put the granulated sugar and vanilla seeds in a saucepan and rub the seeds into the sugar with your fingers. Add 1 cup cream and whisk over medium heat to dissolve the sugar. When the mixture comes to a boil, remove from the heat and whisk in the gelatin mixture. Transfer to a bowl, then set in a larger bowl of ice water and stir with a rubber spatula until the mixture begins to thicken. Add the remaining 1/4 cup cream and stir until thick, about 2 minutes. Pour into the tart shell and refrigerate until set, about 1 hour.
  • Before serving, top the tart with the strawberries and confectioners' sugar.

2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
2 cups white sugar
1 (3 ounce) package strawberry flavored Jell-O®
1 cup butter, softened
4 eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup strawberries, pureed
1 ½ cups heavy cream
2 tablespoons sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ½ cups fresh strawberries, sliced
½ cup margarine, softened
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
4 cups confectioners' sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 ½ cups quartered strawberries

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour three 9 inch round cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, beat sugar, gelatin and butter until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well with each addition. Mix flour and baking powder, and beat alternately with the milk into the sugar mixture. Fold in 1 teaspoon vanilla and pureed strawberries. Divide equally into three 9 inch round cake pans.
  • Bake 25 minutes in the preheated oven, or until toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes in the pans, then remove from pans and cool completely.
  • To make the filling: Beat whipping cream, 2 tablespoons sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla on high until stiff. Fill each layer with 1/3 of the whipped cream and 3/4 cup sliced strawberries.
  • To make the frosting: Beat the margarine, cream cheese, confectioners' sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Spread over the sides of the cake, and pipe an edge of frosting around the top of the cake.
  • Spread remaining whipped cream on cake top. Top with quartered strawberries.

Steps:

  • Cream butter and sugar in small bowl until fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla. Mix in flour and salt. Spread batter evenly in greased and floured flan pan. Bake at 350 degrees F until cake is golden and springs back when touched, about 14 minutes. Cool on a wire rack; remove from pan when completely cool. Make pastry cream. Place cake on serving plate; pread pastry cream in center. Arrange fruit in a decorative pattern over pastry cream. Refrigerate until serving time. Garnish with whipped cream when serving.
