- Break out the Crock Pot! Put in the sausage, potatoes, chicken broth, can of Red Gold, and JUST enough water to cover but ONLY if you need it. Cook on high for 3-4 hours. Whisk the flour into the heavy cream, make sure to get lumps out and all other items are chopped very finely - makes a huge difference! Put the cream, kale, mushrooms, and bacon into soup. Cook for another 30 - 45 minutes. Sprinkle with freshly grated parmesan, bacon bits, and green onion if desired then serve! This may be put into containers and frozen for lunches. It is delicious!

After years of making 'depression cake' for our egg- and dairy-allergic son, we finally discovered that xanthan gum is the necessary ingredient for combating crumbly cake! This can easily be a vegan cake, or a not-necessarily-vegan cake, you throw together with stuff in your pantry! Cool completely, frost as desired, and enjoy!

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Whisk flour, cocoa powder, xanthan gum, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl. Add water, sugar, vegetable oil, vinegar, and vanilla extract to dry ingredients; mix until batter is just moistened and pour into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean, about 40 minutes.

- Preheat Oven to 325 degrees.
- In a large bowl, mix sugar and eggs. Then add vanilla and flour. Stir in melted butter, and then buttermilk. Do not beat. Finally, fold in the graham cracker crumbs.
- Pour into the pie crusts, dividing evenly between the two crusts.
- Bake 45mins or until center of pie is firm when tested with a knife.

Every time I make this I'm asked for the recipe. It's really a "get your socks knocked off" dish. NO LIE! Cooking time does not include marinating.

Steps:
- Marinate chicken 2-3 hours in white wine, covered.
- Remove chicken and save marinade.
- Sauté chicken in butter until golden brown.
- Remove chicken and set aside.
- Add onion and garlic to skillet.
- Sauté 2 minutes, then sprinkle with flour.
- Cook and stir for 2 more minutes.
- Add reserved marinade.
- Put chicken back in the skillet and add salt, pepper, paprika, basil and parsley.
- Cover and simmer 30-35 minutes.
- Remove chicken and place on a serving platter.
- Mix together half and half, egg yolk and 2-3 tablespoons sauce from the skillet.
- To skillet add the sliced mushrooms and the half and half mixture.
- Cook and stir to thicken sauce.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Pour over chicken, serve.
