The most delicious creamy cilantro tomatillo salad dressing!

1 1/2 cups plain greek yogurt
1/2 cup mayo
1/2 bunch fresh cilantro washed, stems removed
3 tomatillos, washed thoroughly (remove outer paper-like skin)
1 green onion
1 garlic clove or 1 teaspoon garlic
1 jalapeno, seeded
2 limes, juiced
Salt to taste

Steps:

  • Place all the ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.

Number Of Ingredients 10

4 tomatillos, roughly chopped
14 cup roughly chopped scallions
2 cloves garlic
1 jalapeno pepper, roughly chopped with seeds
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
1/3 cup buttermilk
12 bunch fresh cilantro, leaves picked
Juice of 2 limes
1 12 teaspoons salt

Steps:

  • Place the tomatillos, scallions, garlic, jalapeno, mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, cilantro, lime juice, and salt in blender and blend until smooth. Store leftover dressing, covered tightly, in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.;

This Creamy Tomatillo Ranch Dressing is so incredibly good! It is delicious on homemade Cafe Rio salads and burritos.

1 packet Hidden Valley Ranch mix (TRADITIONAL not BUTTERMILK)
1 cup mayonnaise (I prefer Best Foods)
1 cup buttermilk
2 tomatillos (remove husk, diced)
1/2 bunch cilantro (fresh )
1 clove garlic
1 lime (juiced)
1 jalapeno (we like it SPICY so we kept the seeds in it, if you like it mild, just remove the seeds)

Steps:

  • Add all the ingredients in to a blender.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Serve as a dressing over salad or as a dip for veggies and chips.

Creamy Cilantro Salad Dressing image

This is my best take on the dressing that is used in the El Torito restaurants in southern California. Be sure to toss some roasted pepitas and crumbled Cotija or Manchengo cheese on top of your salad for the full effect!

1 ½ cups mayonnaise
¾ cup canola oil
⅓ cup toasted pumpkin seeds
¼ cup distilled water
¼ cup red wine vinegar
¼ cup crumbled Cotija cheese
2 roasted Anaheim chile peppers
2 cloves garlic, crushed
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 bunches fresh cilantro, rinsed and stemmed

Steps:

  • Blend mayonnaise, canola oil, pumpkin seeds, water, vinegar, Cotija cheese, roasted chile peppers, garlic, salt, and pepper in a blender until smooth, about 1 minutes. Add cilantro in batches, blending each to incorporate completely before adding the next, 30 to 60 seconds per batch.
  • Pour dressing into an air-tight container and refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.

  • In a blender add all of the ingredients except the hot sauce/sriracha. Blend until smooth and fully mixed. If you are worried about the heat, start out with half the jalapeno.
  • Taste the dressing after it is blended and adjust the lime juice, cilantro, or jalapeno heat as needed. Squirt in a touch of hot sauce or sriracha (optional) and blend again. Taste and adjust as needed. NOTE: The flavor will develop in the fridge as this dressing sits so I suggest making it ahead of time and you can adjust the flavors before serving as needed.
