This has been a hit with all my family and guests. The flavor is excellent and it's very easy to prepare on the stovetop.

4 cups steamed broccoli florets
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon rosemary
salt
parmesan cheese (optional)

Steps:

  • In large skillet melt butter and olive oil together with garlic and rosemary.
  • Cook over medium high heat until garlic browns.
  • Add steamed broccoli (it will sizzle) and toss in skillet for about 30 seconds.
  • Place immediately in serving bowl and salt to taste. May sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

2 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons finely chopped garlic
Salt and freshly ground pepper

Steps:

  • Using a paring knife, cut off and discard tough bottoms of broccoli stalks. Cut broccoli into florets.
  • Place broccoli in a steamer for 3 to 4 minutes. Do not overcook.
  • Heat oil in a skillet, add garlic, broccoli and salt and pepper to taste. Saute briefly, being careful not to burn garlic. Serve immediately.

Steps:

  • Discard tough lower third of broccoli stem. Peel remaining stem and cut crosswise into 1/2-inch-thick slices. Cut broccoli into 2-inch florets. In a steamer set over boiling water steam broccoli, covered, until crisp-tender, 4 to 5 minutes.
  • While broccoli is steaming, finely chop garlic and in a small skillet combine with oil, lemon juice, and salt and pepper to taste. Heat garlic mixture over moderate heat until garlic is fragrant. In a bowl toss broccoli with garlic mixture.

Steps:

  • Place broccoli in a microwave-safe dish and microwave on high until defrosted, 3 to 4 minutes; they should be defrosted but not cooked all the way.
  • Add 1/4 cup Parmesan and garlic, stir, and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and stir.
  • Serve with extra Parmesan sprinkled over top.

1 pound broccoli, separated into florets
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons water
3 tablespoons butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pinch salt
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Place broccoli florets in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir 2 teaspoons lemon juice into water in a small bowl and pour the mixture into the skillet. Cover and steam until broccoli is bright green and tender, 10 to 15 minutes.
  • While broccoli is steaming, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat and stir in garlic and salt; turn heat to low and let the garlic gently fry until golden brown, about 8 minutes. Drain water from cooked broccoli and return to skillet; sprinkle with 2 more teaspoons lemon juice and the butter and garlic mixture.
